The University of South Florida St. Petersburg and 3 Daughters Brewing in St. Pete are going a step further after creating a brewing internship — by creating a brewing arts program at the university this fall. Creative Loafing reports that the courses will be designed to cover the technology and science of brewing to its arts and business roles. The craft brewing community in Tampa Bay continues to grow, and this pilot program would continue to support its success.

If you’ve been to St. Pete Beach lately, you may notice a few changes here and there. I was there last weekend for Mother’s Day and noticed the famous Christmas store that greets you upon entrance to the area is closing down. TBBJ’s Eric Snider ( @TBBJSnider) examines the area closely in this week’s print edition cover story, saying the area is in line for new development and potentially a different skyline.
