The waterfront Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel will soon be unveiling a piece of its major three-phased renovation.
The 277-room hotel has opened the Sheraton Pool Bar, which will allow guests to grab a drink or dish from the pool bar.
The Sheraton Riverwalk is one of only two hotels with direct access to the popular Riverwalk and is one of only a handful of approved vendors that are allowed to sell alcoholic drinks on the waterfront.
“The pool bar will bring in additional revenue from local crowds and the downtown evening crowds. This is going to be a whole new venture for us,” Melissa Stenson, director of sales and marketing at the hotel, told the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Phase 1, which was completed earlier this year, was a $7 million renovation of the rooms. The new pool bar, the pavers at the outdoor pool as well as its cabanas that face the Riverwalk are part of Phase 2. Meanwhile, Phase 3 has yet to be determined, but will include the renovation of the lobby and a new restaurant, which has not been named.
The pool bar, which will have a grand opening event on Aug. 26, will offer local craft beers and handcrafted cocktails by Executive Chef Charles Coe.
There will also be craft beers from local breweries including Cigar City Brewing, 3 Daughters Brewing, Tampa Bay Brewing Co., Big Storm Brewing Co. and Florida Avenue Brewing Co.
